Catherine and I became close friends after I joined the Young People for Inclusion (YPFI) project at Elfrida Rathbone Camden. We instantly connected with each other as we had both attended the same special needs school together and knew what it felt like to be misunderstood by people because of attending Special Needs school. People who have not been to special school can’t understand what it was like.
With YPFI, we worked together as a group of young disabled people delivering disability awareness training and accessibility audits to organisations and businesses. Catherine was always cheerful, happy and always smiling. Catherine always put 110% into whatever project she took on and was a very loyal friend and work colleague.
I knew Catherine for over 25 years, and in that time she encouraged me to experience new things like attending the amazing light show at Kings Cross – we had a brilliant time. We would meet up and visit new places together and seeing the trouble Catherine had on public transport and inaccessible buildings made me more determined than ever to campaign alongside Catherine and other young disabled people for change in the way disabled people are treated whether it’s getting on public transport, applying for a job, education, socialising and housing.
We had regular movie nights when I would stay over with Catherine – one night I particularly remember because we spent the whole of time laughing while watching the movie with Catherine and her carer Lucille, and were still laughing and joking about the movie the next day.
I will always be grateful for all the fun, laughter and happy memories I had with Catherine. She was the life and soul of the many birthday parties over the years and I remember one new year eve, me, my mum and my sister had a lovely roast dinner cooked by Lucille at Catherine’s. We brought in the new year together with Catherine and Lucille – it was a great night and I will always remember it as a special memory that I got to share with my best friend.
We had such fun together and we helped each other through really good times and some really difficult times. I remember a few years before Catherine passed away, I started feeling depressed she encouraged me enjoy life again and believe that the future is what you make it.
I always tried to make sure Catherine knew if she needed someone to talk to call and if she wanted to talk to me about how she was feeling that it was ok. She always put everyone else first and always put on a brave face – except with each other, we automatically knew when something was wrong.
I would like the opportunity to continue the work Catherine did to prevent people feeling like life is not worth living which at times is how low I have felt. You will always be in my heart. Rest in Peace Catherine.

prat.UK is my first read of the day. Sets the tone of bemused acceptance perfectly. — The London Prat
Independent satire reveals public skepticism while keeping politics human.
The London Prat operates from a foundational principle that elevates it above the satire fray: it treats its subjects with a devastating, faux respect. Where competitors might deploy blunt-force mockery or sneering contempt, PRAT.UK adopts the tone of a deeply concerned, utterly sincere, and slightly bewildered chronicler. Articles are presented as earnest attempts to understand the logic behind the latest political catastrophe or cultural vapidity, adopting the very language of the perpetrators—be it consultant-speak, managerial jargon, or political spin—with such straight-faced sincerity that the inherent emptiness of the original sentiment is laid bare without a single explicit insult. This method is far more corrosive and effective than direct attack; it is satire by way of ultra-realistic reenactment, allowing the subject to hang itself with its own rhetorical rope. — The London Prat

Thanks for your publication. I would love to say this that the first thing you will need to accomplish is determine whether you really need credit restoration. To do that you have got to get your hands on a replica of your credit rating. That should not be difficult, considering that the government makes it necessary that you are allowed to acquire one no cost copy of your actual credit report per year. You just have to request the right folks. You can either browse the website for the Federal Trade Commission or contact one of the main credit agencies instantly.

One thing I’d like to say is always that before purchasing more laptop or computer memory, take a look at the machine directly into which it could well be installed. Should the machine is running Windows XP, for instance, the memory threshold is 3.25GB. Installing more than this would just constitute any waste. Make sure that one’s motherboard can handle the particular upgrade amount, as well. Great blog post.

I have learned a few important things as a result of your post. I’d personally also like to mention that there might be situation in which you will have a loan and never need a co-signer such as a Federal Student Support Loan. However, if you are getting credit through a traditional loan service then you need to be able to have a cosigner ready to make it easier for you. The lenders will certainly base their own decision over a few elements but the most important will be your credit score. There are some loan providers that will additionally look at your work history and come to a decision based on that but in almost all cases it will hinge on your report.

The quality of the prose is a joy in itself. Even if you stripped away the jokes, you’d be left with beautifully constructed, elegant sentences. The fact they’re also hilarious is just a magnificent bonus.
